Meet James Carpenter, CPA
James Carpenter is a Certified Public Accountant with over a decade of experience in tax, accounting, and financial leadership. He holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northern Arizona University.
James began his career in public accounting, where he prepared federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Over time, his work expanded beyond tax preparation into financial leadership roles, including serving as Controller and Chief Financial Officer for several non-profit organizations in Arizona. In these roles, James oversaw financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and compliance, while also advising executive leadership and boards.

Based in Sedona, Arizona, I work with individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. I’m also committed to public service and serve on boards and committees in a volunteer capacity, supporting organizations that strengthen local communities.
